Jo Lobdell makes objects that speak to our fears, curiosities, and possibilities. Her work is playful and whimsical. Jo is a Partner of Matter Design where her contributions operate at the intersection of art and design. She builds transformative narratives through the mediums of color, pattern and form. Examples of this process can be seen in projects like the award winning Five Fields Play Structure, The Cannibal’s Bath for MoMA’s Young Architects Program, and The Cannibal’s Cookbook which received a PRINT design award. She received a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Cranbrook Academy of Art, a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Lesley University, and an Associate of Applied Science in Graphic Design from Parsons School of Design.
